MARION Diversity and Inclusion
Diversity and accessibility are two of MARION’s core values. Our purpose is to promote, curate and showcase the diverse range of writers, story-tellers, editors and other industry professionals, of all backgrounds.
MARION has set a diversity target that a minimum of 55% of all presenters/facilitators will come from a diverse background. This is one practical way in which we can ensure writers are offered opportunities to be challenged and enriched by the widest possible range of skills and perspectives. It also minimises the chance of a writer feeling alienated or excluded by our offerings, whatever their background.
MARION programs all offer two semi-subsidised places, to assist those facing financial barriers to access our offerings. We have sought to build a program that truly serves the ACT region’s vibrant artistic landscape, and actively engage with the wider arts sector. To access one of these places, simply email MARION CEO Katy Mutton on ceo@marion.ink. Please note that these semi-subsided places are on a ‘first come, first served’ basis; you will not be required to justify your eligibility, nor will you be required to provide personal details.
