MARION
Mentorship Program

Mentorship Applications for 2024 are now closed.
The next round of Mentorship opportunities will open in 2025.

The MARION Mentorship Program is designed for early-career writers seeking to develop works-in-progress under the guidance of a mentor.

Fiction, nonfiction and poetry applications are welcomed.

Develop your work-in-progress with one of our incredible mentors. As part of the mentorship, you will receive feedback on your manuscript as well as the opportunity to workshop the project through 5 x 60 minute sessions.

While the scope of work for each session can be negotiated and discussed with the mentor based on the needs of the project, we recommend a limit of 5,000 words for fiction and non-fiction writers; and no more than 4 poems for poets.

The program is slated to run between October 2024 and April 2025, though this can be negotiated based on the mentor’s availability.

Please note Julie Koh is not available to begin in October 2024, but is available from November 2024 instead.

Applications open 4 July 2024 and will close for fiction 11:59PM (AEST), 24 July.
Please note: Applications for nonfiction and poetry mentorships will remain open until 11:59PM (AEST), 31 July 2024.

Fiction Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications in the first week of August.
All other Applicants will be informed of the outcome by 15 August 2024.
